F.A.Q
1. Is it safe to camp in the middle of the desert?
Answer: Yes, absolutely. We camp in designated, safe areas within the National Parks or known Bedouin spots. Your expedition is led by expert desert guides who are highly experienced in desert navigation and safety. We also ensure all necessary permits from the authorities are secured for your journey.
2. What kind of vehicle will we be using for this 5-day journey?
Answer: For this trans-desert expedition, we use private, heavy-duty 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers. These vehicles are specially maintained for off-road terrain and are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring your comfort and safety across the dunes and rocky plateaus.
3. Is there electricity or phone signal during the safari?
Answer: Once we deep-dive into the Black and White Deserts, phone signal becomes very limited or non-existentโwhich is part of the "escape" experience. We recommend charging your devices before leaving the oases. Our team carries emergency communication tools, and you can charge small devices via the vehicleโs USB ports if needed.
4. What are the bathroom facilities like while camping?
Answer: When camping in the deep desert, we practice "wild camping." We provide basic, private setups for your comfort, and we follow strict "Leave No Trace" environmental rules. In the oases (like Dakhla or Kharga), you will have access to standard facilities at our rest stops or lodges.
5. Is the 5-day trip suitable for children or seniors?
Answer: This trip is a true adventure involving long drives and off-road sections. While we can customize the pace for families or seniors, it is best suited for those who are comfortable with outdoor living and moderate physical activity (like short hikes in the White Desert)
6. What should I pack for a desert safari from Cairo to Luxor?
Answer: The desert has high temperature contrasts. We recommend layered clothing: light, breathable fabrics for the day, and a warm jacket or fleece for the cold desert nights. Don't forget high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a power bank for your camera.
